Australian Consumer Law (ACL) & Consumer Guarantees

Australian Consumer Law (ACL) & Consumer Guarantees

At TechUp Australia Pty Ltd, we are committed to complying with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and ensuring our customers receive fair, transparent, and reliable support when shopping with us.

The ACL provides consumers with important rights and protections when purchasing goods and services in Australia. These rights apply in addition to any manufacturer or store warranty provided with your purchase.

Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Under the ACL, our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian consumer law.

Customers are entitled to:

  • A replacement or refund for a major failure

  • Compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage

  • Have products repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure

Refurbished & Pre-Owned Devices

TechUp specialises in professionally tested refurbished and pre-owned technology.

As these are pre-owned devices:

  • Minor cosmetic wear may be present depending on the selected condition grade

  • Battery performance may vary within the advertised grading standards

  • Certain manufacturer warranty programs may no longer apply

  • Devices may contain genuine or high-quality compatible replacement parts where applicable

All devices are thoroughly inspected, tested, and verified for functionality prior to dispatch.

Change of Mind Returns

We offer a 30-day change of mind return policy for eligible purchases.

To qualify:

  • The item must be returned in the same condition received

  • All accessories and included items must be returned

  • The device must not be passcode locked or linked to personal accounts

  • Sealed brand-new items that have been opened may not be eligible unless faulty

Please note:

  • Return shipping for change of mind returns may be the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed

  • Original shipping costs may be non-refundable

Warranty Coverage

Most products sold by TechUp Australia include a 12-month return-to-base warranty unless otherwise stated.

Our warranty covers:

  • Functional faults not caused by accidental or physical damage

  • Hardware defects occurring during normal use

  • Battery faults outside expected refurbished/pre-owned performance standards

Our warranty does not cover:

  • Physical or liquid damage

  • Mishandling or misuse

  • Software-related issues caused by third-party modifications

  • General wear and tear

  • Damage caused by unauthorised repairs

Repair, Replacement & Refund Process

If a product develops a fault, TechUp Australia may:

  • Repair the item

  • Replace the item with an equivalent device

  • Provide a refund where repair or replacement is not possible or appropriate under ACL

For non-major failures, we reserve the right to assess and repair the product within a reasonable timeframe before offering a refund.

Return & Assessment Process

To assist with warranty claims:

  • Customers may be asked to provide photos, videos, or fault descriptions

  • Devices may need to be returned for assessment

  • Return labels may be provided depending on the situation

Please ensure all personal data is backed up before returning a device, as devices may be reset during testing or repair.
